Two Little Fish Phosban Reactor Review

phosban_reactor DESCRIPTION:
The PhosBan Reactor 150 is designed with the upflow principle to achieve the most efficient use of ECO phos or other chemical filter media. By pushing water from the bottom upward through a dispersion plate, the reactor gently fluidizes the media and forces an even distribution of water through it, which prevents channeling. One reactor for up to 568 Liters (150 US gallons). Multiple reactors may be used for larger aquariums. Includes barbed hose connections for 3/8″ (9.5 mm) i.d. hose and a ball valve for flow regulation. Versatile installation options: may be installed above, below or hanging on the back of an aquarium.

REVIEW:
If you are using Phosban, you might want to get a Phosban Reactor because flow rate is important with phosban. It will not receive enough flow by having it in a media bag. Not enough flow will cause it to “clump up” making it less efficient. A reactor allow you to push about 80-90 GPH through the phosban which is I think the best flow rate.
I am using a Phosban Reactor from Two Little Fish for work and really like it. It’s easy to use and really efficient. All you need is some 1/2 inch diameter hose and a small powerhead. I am using a Maxi-Jet 400.
